2019 HFD Softball Tournaments

7th Annual IRON BILL Classic Softball Tournament

September 28, 2019

Hosted by the Houston Fire Department Softball team, this is our 7th annual tournament held in memory and honor of the late Captain William "IRON BILL" Dowling, who was severely injured in the 2013 Southwest Inn fire that killed 4 other HFD members. Captain Dowling later passed away due to complications of his injuries.

The Tournament, held at Cullen Park, was a huge success, with 30 teams participating.

Teams included first responders and CO-ED/Civilian teams. The tournament raised over $13k

to support the Redline Responder Foundation. The Tournament was sponsored by the

Captain Renaud Foundation and the Houston Firefighters Federal Credit Union.

We are so grateful for the amazing support and success of this year's tournament.
